A steady, warm place to work through what feels heavy

Psychotherapy with Bita Bardi, MSc.Ed., MA (CP), Registered Psychotherapist. Sessions are held by secure video, so you can meet from a place where you feel at ease.

Areas of practice

What we can work on together

Many people come with a mix of these, or simply a feeling that something needs to change. That is a good place to start.

Anxiety & depression

Worry that won't switch off, low mood, or feeling flat and far from yourself. Together you look at what keeps these patterns going and build ways to ease them.

Trauma

Difficult experiences can stay with us long after they end. Therapy, including EMDR, offers a careful, paced space to process them, with your safety and choice at the centre.

Burnout & stress

For when you have given more than you have. Sessions help you understand the pressure you're under, set limits and recover your energy.

Life transitions

A move, a loss, a new role, a relationship ending or beginning. Change can unsettle even good foundations. Therapy gives you room to find your footing.

Meaning & self-discovery

Drawing on logotherapy, the meaning-centred approach of Viktor Frankl, for times when you are asking who you are and what gives your life purpose.

Panic attacks & performance anxiety

A racing heart before a presentation, an exam or a performance, or panic that seems to come out of nowhere. Together you calm the alarm, understand its triggers and rebuild confidence.

Approach

Warm, collaborative and grounded in training

Bita's style is warm, reflective and, where it helps, lightly humorous. Sessions are tailored to you rather than following a fixed script. She draws on:

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)
Working with emotions as a guide, to understand your inner experience and how you connect with others. Levels 1 and 2 training through ICEEFT trainers.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR helps the brain process traumatic memories that have not been fully integrated. The aim is to reduce their emotional intensity, develop more adaptive beliefs and work towards the future you want.
Meaning-centred therapy
Logotherapy and integrative meaning therapy, for questions of purpose, values and direction.
Mindfulness & compassion
Gentle practices to steady the nervous system and meet yourself with more kindness.

EMDR with Bita

Helping the mind finish what it could not process

Bita is trained in EMDR therapy and uses it within her integrative, emotion-focused approach. EMDR can help when a past experience still feels too present: memories that intrude, a body that stays on alert, or beliefs such as "I am not safe" or "I am not enough" that will not shift with insight alone.

Details of her EMDR training are available on request.

Who it can help
People living with the effects of trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, performance anxiety, and painful memories that keep returning.
How it works
After careful preparation and building inner resources, you briefly focus on a memory while following guided bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping. Over time, the memory tends to lose its emotional charge.
Online
EMDR sessions take place by secure video, using on-screen eye movements or self-tapping, from a space where you feel safe.
At your pace
Nothing is rushed. Stabilisation and your sense of safety come first, and you stay in control throughout.

  2. Your first session

If you decide to go ahead, Bita schedules your first 50-minute session with you. You talk about what brings you, what you hope will change, and any questions you have. Bita explains confidentiality and how she works.
